After what has seemed like an age of the weather gods conspiring against us, we got a race away today under a beautiful sky with a fitful breeze that just held up. Not a traditional downriver race as the course was set around the cans in front of the Clubhouse but it worked really well.

After one round it was too close to call with 4 boats neck and neck and 2 laggards. Pietro and crew, new member Rachel (hopefully….if today hasn’t put her off) were fighting a valiant rear guard action after what can only be described, politely, as being shy at the start. Nigel broke away (quel surprise) for a commanding win followed by the solos of Nick W and Victor with Pietro clawing his back (thanks to new crew clearly) taking 4th spot. Pictures below and in the gallery. Hopefully, a few more races before the end of the year.
