The replacement anchor, which is a ‘bruce’ style is now fitted and the rusty chain has been replaced. The anchor line is a 8mm 16 braid nylon so it should easy on the hands.

The buoys in the main rescue boat should be used for ‘flood’ tide races as the anchor line is longer than that on the non spherical buoys. The reason that the latter have shorter anchor lines is they are meant to be used for downriver races where the water is considerably lower.

As part of sorting the sail lofts out, Halfcut now has a new place of resting and is easily assessable. We wanted to do this as part of exploring ad-hoc sailing over the summer months along the lines of South Bank. The boat trolley now also has puncture proof wheels fitted, which is what all the rowing clubs have done with their boat trolleys. This should ensure the boat is usable at all times.
