Ranelagh SC is very much looking forward to welcoming you to the Thames at Putney for the final Thames Series event of 2016.
This is a downriver race, which is always a lot of fun, under the bridges, making the echo noises, round a buoy and back under all the same bridges again, often resulting in a photo finish.

    £10 buys you:
    Entry fee
Bacon rolls and tea for 2 people on arrival
Hot lunch for two people on return to shore.

    Start time is 11.30.

Hopefully see lots of you there.

Thames Series Ranelagh Spring Merlin Rocket Open

    Dan & Jennie, worthy winners!

    Merlin Rockets at Ranelagh SC
    Sunday 6th March

Despite the conflicts with Mothering Sunday and the Dinghy Show, a strong turnout of 16 merlin rockets arrived on Putney Embankment to compete for a trophy first awarded in 1946. This was particularly appropriate as while some were racing at Ranelagh, those at Alexandra Palace were eating cake and drinking Prosecco to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the class.

    Ranelagh Christmas Party 2015

Ranelagh Sailing Club Christmas Dinner 2015

The Ranelagh Christmas dinner 2015 was a rather splendid affair. Wendy and Nick Price along with Sonia and Thomas Stolper arrived early to set up the room beautifully. As a slight variation on previous years, 2015 saw the introduction of after dinner entertainment in the form of karaoke.

    Summer Series Results Uploaded

The Summer Points Series approaches its final few races in September and with most members back from vacation the race entries are rising again.

The July/August races sheets have just been uploaded to the Results section.

After 16 races, Chris Edwards is leading the table, followed by Vic West and Greg Brougham. Full table has been published as well.

Mid-week race DELAYED by 30mins on Thu 23rd

The start at 18:00 is too early. We have therefore decided to delay the start to 18:30 and sail past high water at 19:00

With good wind forecasts there should be no problem finishing the race even when the ebb tide starts to kick in from about 19:20 onwards.

John Stokes Funeral Arrangements - Tuesday July 21st

The family has managed to secure the large chapel at Mortlake Crematorium, which means that everybody is invited to attend the ceremony at 12:00. In fact, the family would be very happy to see everyone.

After the ceremony, we expect to come back to Ranelagh at about 13:00. There will be plenty of finger food, sandwiches and drinks.

In the club, a Book of Condolences will be laid out to collect and share memories.

    John Stokes has passed away

John Stokes ringing the final bell in the Ranelagh race box.

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that John Stokes has suddenly passed away.
He joined Ranelagh Sailing Club in 1951.

Nobody has done more for Ranelagh than John.
And nobody has been more attached to the club than John.

Sadly, Ranelagh will now have to survive without him, his advice, his experience and his memories.

Our thoughts go to Margaret, Emma, Kevin and the family.
